In a mindfulness training we focus on developing mindfulness or awareness. The training provides many practical and effective exercises, which, step by step, help you to learn to observe all that occurs, with an attitude of kindness, without judging or immediately wanting to change things. Without fighting or running from things or without being overwhelmed.
When we are less occupied by busy, sometimes ruminating thoughts, or by the stories we create about our lives, we become more aware of what is actually happening in the moment, both inside and around us. We step out of our daily automatic routines and fixed patterns. And there will be more space, even in stressful situations, to make conscious choices and to act with clarity and peace. It then becomes easier to enjoy the little things in life with more joy and energy.
In this training you will learn skills and insights, obtained by practising instead of learning with the mind. We’ll practice a variety of exercises, such as simple physical exercises and Insight meditation. Constructive exploration of patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. Practical exercises to enhance awareness in everyday life. Education on stress and how to deal with it. Mindful dialogue and mindful communication. You will take your practice with you at home, which will without doubt change your life!
The training consists of 8 weekly sessions of 2.5 hrs, and a one day long silent retreat to deepen your experience. Total of 30 hrs of training in mindfulness, workbook and audiotracks with guided exercises provided for ongoing practice and successful integration into everyday life. You get optimum results by practicing daily. Because just as riding a bike or playing the piano, mindfulness is a skill you can't learn from a book, it needs practice.
You can also follow the 8 weeks mindfulness training as an individual track, in one-on-one sessions. In that case there will be more time and attention for issues you may be facing in your life. You can call me for more information and price.
Are you considering taking part in a training? You can come to a free introductory workshop in which you can have a taste of mindfulness, get more info and meet the trainer. See agenda.
Silence practice day
The one day-long silent retreat is part of the 8 weeks mindfulness training and meant as a deepening of everything you've already experienced during the training. Anyone who has already done the training (with me or elsewhere) and likes to refresh your daily practice can join. During this day we will practice with familiar and new exercises.
